Curriculum Objective

The purpose of this paper is to develop and apply chaplaincy skills in various contexts, to enhance effective communication and to learn how to negotiate complex crisis situations.

 

 

Outcomes

Students should be able to:

  1. Distinguish and describe specific communities in which chaplains’ minister
  2. Demonstrate chaplaincy skills in the management of complex client situations, including personal crises and disaster situations
  3. Demonstrate effective communication skills in both public speaking and client situations
  4. Show development in supervised pastoral care and chaplaincy ministry within church-based and community environments
