Curriculum Objective
The aim of this paper is to introduce students to the experience of chaplaincy practice in the field. Students will learn how to apply core chaplaincy skills and knowledge in supervised chaplaincy-appropriate settings.
Outcomes
Students should be able to:
- Display competency in using a variety of assessment variables, instruments and resources to determine the general health and wellbeing of people.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in managing conflict and defusing anger.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and employ appropriate actions/measures to ensure safety and optimal wellbeing of self and others when undertaking pastoral care and chaplaincy practice.
- Show effective supervised pastoral care and chaplaincy ministry.
