Specialty Internships

Gap year options with Alphacrucis hubs & specialty internships

Students  have option of undertaking the new 1 year fulltime internship working in their chosen specialty area at a “hub” church, where they can receive specific hands on experience in their specialty area.

The confirmed hubs available for 2011 are:

High School Outreach

Interns would be utilised in weekly programmes at each of the high schools the hub church is currently working working with. Interns would also be planning and running events outside of school for high school aged youth.

Children’s Work Internship

Interns would be utilised in weekly programmes within the church and at local schools, as well as specialised kids events, holiday programmes and fun days.

Possible additional hubs for 2011 are a Community Services hub and a Missions hub.

Study Specifics

Each intern would be required to undertake 1-2 days of personal distance study and 2 days (16 hours) of work in their chosen specialty.

This would leave interns 1-2 days a week for interns to earn additional funds.

The 1 – 2 day of personal study is in the Local Church Certificate Level 4.

Capable candidates or those who wanted to proceed to a Bachelors Degree would be enrolled into the Local Church Certificate Level 5. Successful completion of Level 5 would ensure cross-crediting into the first year of the Alphacrucisproposed Bachelor of Contemporary Ministry.

Students undertaking the course would be eligible for Student Loans and Allowances For more information or a brochure request, please email: info@alphacrucis.ac.nz with “Hub Internship” in the subject line.
