“If you could do anything at all and you knew it would be a success that God would bless it and you would have unlimited resources people and money what would you do?”

Sue van Schreven (nee Anderson)  Evangel Ministry Training College 1989-1990

I attended Evangel Ministry Training college in 1989 and did an advanced course in 1990. During the first week at college the question was asked to the class “If you could do anything at all and you knew it would be a success that God would bless it and you would have unlimited resources people and money what would you do?” My response to that was I wanted to set up homes for orphans - not run the homes but go from home to home knowing that they were provided for and running as they should.

That is now what my husband Carl of 12 years are doing.

I was invited on to the staff of Hamilton AOG and a journey began. In July 2002 I made my first trip to Romania to visit some orphans ministries. By June 2004 we established our first orphanage in Transylvania (Romania) and since then have seen ministries established (under our organisation Orphans Aid International) in Russia, Nepal and India.

In June 2008 we return to Romania for the eighth time to see a second home for disabled children established in another part of Romania. Its exciting to know that God honours His word that He rewards our faith in Him.

TVNZ showed a documentary on our work which was screen in Spring 2008.  This highlighted the first home in Romania and some of my journey to get there. At times its felt like there has been a lot sacrificed on the alter including my original ministry dreams but God has rewarded with a wonderful husband two wonderful sons who have travelled with us twice to Europe (Ben age 8 and Daniel age 7).

We also have numerous abandoned children in far away places we are able to minister to, and the desires of our heart which He alone really understands.

Orphans Aid International is almost four years old now and I am paid a fulltime wage for the work I do which every month is a miracle but the miracles continue to happen and we continue to Thank our Heavenly Father for them. Praise be to Him!! Please visit www.orphansaidinternational.org for more information about the work we are doing.
